This privacy policy will help you understand how we use your personal data. We may need to update this policy from time to time and we will inform you about any changes we make.

Who are we?

We are FSE C.I.C and its subsidiaries, known as The FSE Group. Whenever we use the term ‘we’ or ‘us’ in this policy, it means FSE C.I.C. and any other company in The FSE Group that holds your personal information.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect and process personal data about the following individuals associated with our customers:

  • The customer itself
  • Individual directors, company secretaries, members, trustees and beneficial owners of the customer
  • Guarantors and third-party security providers
  • Individuals with joint financial obligations with directors and beneficial owners
  • Employees of the customer
  • Legal representatives and other individuals authorised to act on behalf of the customer.

The personal information we collect can include:

  • Personal & contact details such as title, full name, address, telephone numbers, email addresses, date of birth, employment details, passport information, identification documentation, relationship between you and the customer
  • Financial details such as salary, details of personal assets, source of wealth, shareholdings
  • Transactional details such as interactions with our products, services and employees

If you have applied to be a Business Angel, Mentor or Investor we will collect personal information in line with our current application forms.

If you apply for a job with our company, you will provide personal information so that we can correspond with you and assess your suitability for the role (in terms of a CV).

We obtain this information in several ways, which can include: direct from you, direct from our customer, public sources and credit reference agencies.

Some of this information is classed as special categories of personal data (also known as sensitive data). An example of this is the request for majority ethnicity in the makeup of Boards of Directors.

*When you consent and register for our marketing emails we collect contact information usually consisting of your name, address, email address, contact telephone number and often employer name.

How long is your information held?

We undertake not to hold your personal data for longer than is necessary.

If you are associated to a company that has either loan funding, equity investment or grant funding, each product is subject to its own terms, conditions and retention policies. You can obtain specific information by speaking with your Fund Manager.

If you have consented to be on our mailing list, we will use your contact details for marketing purposes until you ask to be removed. You can do this at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link on our marketing emails or through the website.

If you are a Mentor, we will keep your personal data for 1 year after your mentor agreement has finished.

If you are a Business Angel, you can unsubscribe from the network at any time and your personal data will be deleted within 3 months.

Personal data for job applicants will be kept for 6 months after date of fulfilment of the role.

Keeping your data up to date:

We undertake to keep your data up to date from the most recent data we hold. If anything changes, please let us know so that records can be amended.


We undertake to obtain, process and store your personal data in a safe and secure method. Data stored on our UK servers is encrypted and employees receive training regarding the use of personal data.

Who do we share your data with?

We do not share your information outside of The FSE Group for marketing purposes and we do not sell your personal data to any party. We may need to share your personal data:

  • with our business partners and agents, for example, where we have contracted with a solicitor to prepare legal documentation such as a guarantee. We undertake to ensure these parties comply with protection of your personal data as we would;
  • with anyone that purchases the company;
  • if we are required to do so by law, regulation, a court order or a Regulator.
