This fund is aimed at companies affected by the equity gap, with approximately 50% supporting research, development and innovation.

Key Features

Amount: £50,000 – £2million (excluding matched private investment: maximum initial investment is likely to be £750,000)


Co-investment: at least 30% of the funds and preferably 50%. Ideally these investors will bring added value as well as cash investment.

Structure: Typically Ordinary Shares but possibly Convertible Loan Notes or Preferred Ordinary Shares

Security: generally none

Costs: Arrangement fees, monitoring fees and legal costs apply


This equity scheme is aimed at businesses that have:

  • High growth potential SMEs with existing/approaching sales
  • Credible business strategy to deliver significant growth
  • Viable product/service; clear market potential
  • Sustainable competitive advantage
  • Financial projections identifying application of funds
  • Realistic 5 year exit strategy

Companies must either have their headquarters or a material part of the business based in Cornwall & Isles of Scilly

Refinancing of existing loans or creditors, and the financing of acquisitions or turnarounds are not eligible.
