Harino Care Limited, a domiciliary and respite care provider in West Berkshire and Reading is set for expansion, after securing a £100,000 loan from the Thames Valley Berkshire Expansion Loan Scheme. Harino Care was started in 2014 by Peter Prucha and his wife Barbara, the latter having numerous years’ experience in the care industry. The company is licensed by the Care Quality Commission and has grown rapidly in a short space of time. There are currently 23 members of staff, which includes 5 office support team members, with a view to increase numbers significantly in the coming months.
Harino offers a wide range of services from hourly day care to help with household chores, to a live in care option, for those who need round the clock attention. Other services, include enablement care (assistance provided for elderly people to give them the skills necessary to be able to live in their own home independently after having spent some time in hospital) and general day to day support for anyone who is no longer able to entirely take care of themselves.
Peter Prucha, Managing Director, Harino Care, “The provision of domiciliary care is ever growing and there is currently not enough capacity to service the demand. The funding allows the business to expand to the next level, we aim to double the number of carers on our books. We pride ourselves on the high standard of care that we offer and all of our staff members are employed directly through the business, we do not use agency workers.”
The Thames Valley Berkshire Expansion Loan Scheme is part of the Thames Valley Berkshire Funding Escalator, a £7.3m initiative, which also includes a commercialisation loan, trade finance loan scheme and a growth fund, to support job creation and economic prosperity in Berkshire. Aimed at businesses of all stages, from start-up to established, the escalator provides loans and equity funding between £25,000 and £250,000 to eligible businesses which meet the relevant criteria.
Funded by Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership and managed by FSE C.I.C., the Thames Valley Berkshire Funding Escalator is aimed at businesses based in Berkshire with the potential to deliver high growth and employment opportunities.
Tim King, Fund Manager at The FSE Group, “We are delighted to be supporting a business that provides an exceptional service to those in society who need it the most. Harino Care is a great example of the type of company that the funding escalator is here to support. We wish them all the best for the future and are looking forward to seeing how the company progresses.”
