A Cambridgeshire based company specialising in the provision of data to the auto industry is looking to expand its St Ives operation to enable and support the growth of the business.
Auto Data Guru was set up last year with the objective of creating an innovative coding structure, system and applications that would set the global standard in vehicle parts identification and visibility to both the B2B and B2C customer. Its founders then successfully secured a DVLA Bulk Data Set licence, making them one of only seven DVLA Licence holders within the UK and positioned to add real value to the Automotive Sector, parts and accessory availability and ultimately vehicle safety.
Auto Data Guru has developed proprietary software that can import this bulk data into its own database, then greatly expand the data to create the G:Code, where a highly detailed and enhanced vehicle description code is created. This new – and unique to Auto Data Guru – data set can then be used to provide valuable information to various aspects of the auto trade to include assigning parts, accessories, engine oil, bulbs, windscreens, tyres, paint, road reports, instruction manuals and more, all accessible through a simple Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM) look up.
Alan Crouch, Auto Data Guru CEO, explains: “We created Auto Data Guru in response to market demand for detailed and reliable vehicle data, which we have been faced with during our many years in the industry. G:Code allows us to provide smart, cost effective solutions which have previously been unviable or even unachievable. The ability of our software to overcome the complexities of this data makes it highly desirable across a number of sub sectors.”
Examples of just how the G:Code can assist B2B & B2C applications includes insurance companies being able accurately identifying vehicles and the vehicle options, auction houses to track the provenance of vehicles, dealers to create online parts and accessories shops and drive servicing revenues, and parts providers saving costs in stock reduction coupled with fewer returns by offering a more reliable and accurate parts identification and in turn ‘first-time’ delivery service to dealers.
To assist with this growth, Auto Data Guru has secured a £50,000 loan from the East of England Regional Growth Loan Scheme, via Finance East. The funds will be used to support investment in sales, marketing and on-going product development as well as fully establish the St Ives office with sales, marketing and admin personnel.
Senior Fund Manager at Finance East, Stuart Ager, comments: “With its experienced and committed Directors who have extensive industry knowledge and contacts, Auto Data Guru has established itself well in a short time. It has already gained several key clients and has a strong sales pipeline. We are delighted to be supporting them to expand their Cambridgeshire base and help them realise their growth ambitions.”
The East of England Regional Growth Loan Scheme, which is funded by UK Government, provides up to £200,000 of loan funding to established businesses based in the region that show strong growth potential and are seeking funding to deliver that growth.
